Matt Gill

Former General Manager, Beaconsfield Mine

Matt is a mining engineer with over 35 years' experience.

He has a strong technical, operational and executive management background, having worked in roles ranging from an underground miner, supervisor, department head and site operations general manager, through to CEO and managing director, in Australia (Tasmania, WA, Victoria and NSW), Papua New Guinea, India, Ghana and Bolivia.

Matt holds three First Class Metalliferous Mine Manager’s Certificates of Competency and has been instrumental in the successful development of three gold mines (Porgera, Beaconsfield and Ballarat). He is a three-time winner of the Australian Mine Manager of the Year Award and received the AusIMM Leadership Award in 2008.

Matt has previously worked for Singapore-listed LionGold Corp, Renison Goldfields, Placer Pacific, WMC and Rio Tinto, and is currently MD&CEO for ASX-listed White Rock Minerals.


Peter Ali

CEO, Municipal Works Australia

Peter Ali has spent most of his working life in the municipal works field.

Peter held the position of General Manager Infrastructure at the City of Whittlesea, located in Melbourne’s northern urban growth corridor, in which he oversaw a $40 million annual budget covering road maintenance, parks and open space, fleet, waste and facilities management.

Three years ago, he took up the position of CEO of the then Municipal Works Operations Association of Victoria (MWOA), which has now become Municipal Works Australia.


Justin Scotchbrook

WA Territory Manager, Before You Dig Australia

As WA Territory Manager of Before You Dig Australia, Justin's focus is the promotion of the Damage Prevention message throughout the State by developing strategies that increase the awareness of Before You Dig Australia to different audiences. This has included the establishment and delivery of education programs, as well as liaison with industry to secure new members to protect their assets with the Before You Dig Australia service.

Justin has been with Before You Dig Australia since 2015, prior to that he has held senior executive positions in the utilities industry in Western Australia since 1995. He holds a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Business Administration, and is a Graduate Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.


Shane Rakich

State Manager, Corporate Challenge

Shane is an engaging facilitator who thrives on being able to connect with his clients and peers. His passion is helping organisations create an environment that promotes growth, high performance and a clear vision for positive team culture.

Along with a Bachelor of Exercise Science and qualifications in training, assessment and sport’s coaching, Shane has 10 year’s experience leading and managing teams in the corporate and fitness industry.

Outside of the office Shane always wants to be the best version of himself and enjoys reading and researching holistic health or practising daily meditation.

Fraser Ramsay

Fraser is a Civil Engineer with more than 30 years’ experience in the provision of contractor supplied services to the mining, civil engineering, and building industries.

Fraser is employed by Accinona and is responsible for the delivery of Bunbury Outer Ring Road Project as the South West Gateway Alliance Director.


Nicole Walton

Community and Stakeholder Engagement Manager, South West Gateway Alliance

Nicole has over 25 years’ experience in marketing, communications, engagement and corporate strategy roles.

Nicole is employed by Aurecon and is the Alliance Management Team member responsible for overseeing all community, stakeholder engagement and Aboriginal participation on the project.
